The Taj Mahal

After Varanasi, we’ll take a short flight to Delhi, have a quick lunch, then a 4-hr private luxury bus ride to the ancient Mughal capital city of Agra to take in the beauty of the Taj Mahal, one of the great wonders of the world. We will visit the following day in the early morning as the sunrise peaks over the horizon onto the Taj dome, changing colors as the sun rises. The Taj is a monument to all love: love for life, love for self, and partner. Bring an open heart and your camera for some fun group shots and selfies. This is serious bucket list business.
The Taj is one of the Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is divine in inspiration and revered as the temple of love. It is called such because the Taj was build by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to his wife who died in childbirth. So in love and heartbroken was the emperor, that he spent the next 22 years building the Taj Mahal to remember her. A professional guide will walk us through the Taj, both inside and out, where we will learn the history and rare stories of this sacred monument to human love and devotion.
