Nagarkot: Observation Deck of the Himalayas

On the last afternoon of our tour, we’ll take a one-hour bus ride from Kathmandu to Nagarkot on the east edge of the Kathmandu Valley. Nagarkot is located on a hill ridge facing the Himalayas, known as the “Observation Deck of the Himalayas.” It boasts the widest and most beautiful view of the world’s highest peaks. The hotel is more than 6,000 feet above sea level, and when the weather is clear and the visibility is high, you can see Mount Everest on the east side to the Annapurna Mountains on the west side. The lined-up snow-capped mountains are quite impressive.
We will spend this evening closing the tour cycle, with an outdoor celebratory feast. The sunrise view of the Himalayas is one of the most celebrated sights in all of Nepal. the sunrise breaks through the Himalayas and casts a gorgeous light on the snow-covered peaks. Grab a hot cup of chai or coffee and sit in the morning light. After a casual breakfast, we will depart Nagarkot and make our way back by bus to Kathmandu for a departure lunch in town and then our last ride to the airport for goodbyes.
